Post Construction Cleaning in Montreal
Construction dust is the one trade nobody scheduled. It settles for days after the sanding stops, and the handover date does not move for it. We do post construction cleaning in Montreal for homes after a renovation and for buildings after a build or fit out. The dust is the same in both. So is the deadline.

Drywall dust does not behave like household dust. It hangs in the air and settles again overnight, so a room that looked clean at six is grey again by morning. It drifts under doors into rooms the trades never entered and sits inside cabinet boxes, in window tracks and on every light fixture. Cleaning after construction is a different job from a deep clean. What construction cleaners do differently is the order and the clock: top to bottom, in passes, timed by when the last dusty trade left.
If you would rather see the work than read about it, there is a post construction set in our before and after photos.
What a post construction clean covers
Scope is set at the quote. A full final clean covers the items below; if you only want part of it, say so and it is priced that way.
- Fine dust on every surfaceWalls, ledges, door frames, baseboards and trim are wiped from the top down so nothing lands on a finished surface.
- Inside cabinets and closetsCabinet boxes, drawers, shelves and closets are cleared of dust before anything goes back in.
- Windows, tracks and framesInterior glass, frames, sills and tracks are cleaned and the protective film on new glass is peeled off.
- Stickers and paint spotsLabels, protective film, tape residue and small paint or compound spots are lifted from glass, fixtures and hard surfaces.
- Floors by materialEvery floor is vacuumed, then washed the way its material allows, because concrete, hardwood, tile and vinyl each take a different method.
- Fixtures and ventsLight fixtures, switch plates, registers, vent covers, faucets and hardware are wiped so they stop shedding dust.
- Debris and packagingSmall debris, offcuts and packaging are bagged and set where you tell us, ready for whoever hauls it.
- A final detail passOnce the bulk is gone we walk the space again, because fine dust resettles while you work.
After a home renovation
A kitchen or bathroom renovation, a finished basement, a new condo: the work is done, the plastic is down, and the rest of the home wears a film nobody was hired to remove. Book the clean after the last sanding and paint touch up and before the furniture comes back, because anything that returns to a dusty room becomes a dusty thing. If you are moving into a new build, say so, since move in cleaning and the construction pass can be quoted together. If what you really want is the whole home reset, that is deep cleaning for homes, a different scope.
For contractors, builders and property managers
Construction site cleaning for a builder starts with a date and works backwards from it. Tell us when the client walk through is, which trades are still coming back and whether floor protection stays down until they are out. We schedule around your hours, evenings and weekends included, and access is whatever the site runs on: a key, a lockbox code or the site supervisor letting us in. Tell us which company the invoice goes to, the contractor or the property manager, and what has to appear on it. If you turn over units in sequence, the same crew comes back for each one, so the last unit gets the same attention as the first. For a warehouse or plant going back into production, see industrial and warehouse cleaning. Once the building is occupied, our commercial and office cleaning can take over. If the site has rules for anyone coming through the door, boots, hard hats or a sign in sheet, tell us at the quote.
Rough clean, final clean, or both
A rough clean comes once the heavy dust has been raised, after drywall sanding, tile cutting and floor sanding, but while painters and installers are still coming and going. It takes out the bulk: sweeping, vacuuming, wiping flat surfaces and bagging debris, so the final clean has less to fight. A final clean comes when everyone is out and nothing else will be cut, drilled or sanded. Which you need depends on the stage of the work. A final clean booked while the painter still has touch ups left will show a film by the walk through, so the date gets settled before anything else. We talk it through at the quote and price the job as it stands.
How the quote works
Quotes are free, by phone or from photos. Send pictures of the worst room and the floors; the dust on a windowsill says more than a paragraph. Tell us the type of space and roughly how big it is, the stage of the work, whether trades are still coming back, the handover or move in date, how we get in, and whether windows, cabinet interiors and appliances are part of the job. Products and equipment come with the crew. If something was missed after we leave, tell us the same business day and we come back for it.
Common questions
When should the post construction clean be booked?
After the last dusty trade is finished and before furniture, stock or staff come in. If trades are still returning, say so and the final pass gets timed after them.
How is this different from a regular deep clean?
A deep clean works on grime that built up over months. A post construction clean works on a fine dust that arrived in a week and coats everything at once, so it is done top to bottom in passes and timed around the resettling.
Do you remove construction waste?
Small debris, offcuts and packaging are bagged and set aside where you tell us. Hauling waste and renting containers are outside the scope, and large debris is the contractor’s to clear before the clean starts.
Do you clean new condos and houses before a move in?
Yes. A new build in Montreal carries the same fine dust as a renovation. Give us the move in date when you call so the clean lands after the builder’s last visit and before the boxes arrive.
Who does the work?
The crew is insured and background checked, and products and equipment are included. On recurring accounts the same crew comes back each visit.
